This is an invitation to the international project “walls”, a collective installation project i showed ,on february 2004, for a first appointment in Cahors (France).

This project, itinerant and developing, will be shown a third time on august (2007) in Caussade (France), but it will rest open for future exhibits.  All artistic languages are welcome (drawing, oils, photos, poems, etc.) Until today 63 artists of 11 different nations, have contributed to “walls”.

I will need as much collaboration as possible from other artists. That's why I am asking you to follow up on this invitation and pass it on to others.

I would like you to express yourselves on the following subject: walls – physical or virtual, solid, liquid or rubber, human or political, foundation or obstacle, defensive or offensive, natural or artificial, etc.

The only requirement is size: postcard, 13x18cm. This is essential for the visual unity of the final work.

In this way, I plan to create a collective piece for the exhibition using everyone's different ideas.

The name, address and nationality of each artist will appear alongside the piece.

Please include your personal data on a separate piece of paper.

ANNOTATIONS :Mon point de départ est  l’ expression italienne « scontrarsi con muri di gomma » qui en français sonne à peu près comme ça : « heurter contre, ou être face à, un mur en caoutchouc ». Etre face à un muro di gomma est synonyme d’une situation qui rend vaine tout tentative d’intervention, tout tentative de compréhension, toute demande de clarification…image d’une impuissance qui épuise.Pour moi un mur est bien cela, et pour vous ? A quoi pensez-vous d’emblée quand on vous parle de « mur » ? Il n’y a pas la bonne réponse, mais juste une réponse signifiante pour chacun de nous. Mon projet veut simplement les rassembler et les présenter aux yeux de qui observe dans leur multiplicité et variété, afin de stimuler la réflexion, ou jouant un peu avec les mots, pour mettre qui regarde, face à ce mur  « dévoilé ».
